DAY ONE
Depart Village Christian School and fly to New York City (staying next to Times Square).
DAY TWO
Start your morning with the workshop "Enter Acting," led by industry professionals. This session focuses on building trust in your talent, discovering the truth of the moment, and developing the complete actor through the power of imagination. The workshop includes various exercises tailored to the needs of acting students. After lunch, we will embark on a guided City Tour of Manhattan narrated by a local expert. In the evening, enjoy your first of three Broadway plays.
DAY THREE
This morning, experience “A Broadway Rehearsal” led by a professional performer who will teach a musical number from a current Broadway show. Conducted in a Broadway rehearsal studio, students will rehearse vocals and/or choreography as if in a professional setting, providing a true Broadway experience. Lyric or music sheets may be provided at the start of this exciting workshop, followed by a Q&A session with the performer. Afterward, take in the breathtaking view from the top of an iconic Skyscraper and enjoy ice skating at one of New York City’s famous outdoor rinks. This evening, cap off your day with a second major Broadway show.
DAY FOUR
Today's workshop, "Broadway Beat," is a sixteen-bar master class that demonstrates how to make the most of an open audition when given a limited amount of time. Structured as an audition, the class emphasizes vocal technique, focus, and specificity with the actor's material. After the workshop, explore the Broadway Museum interactive exhibits featuring original costumes, rare artifacts, and set designs from some of the most iconic shows. This unique institution is dedicated to the art, technology, and social impact of film, television, and digital media. In the evening, enjoy your third Broadway show.
DAY FIVE
Your final Broadway workshop called “Audition Workshop”. Cold reading, monologues, and the presentation of entering a room are some of the elements touched upon in this master class for actors, Broadway or Film professionals. Giving you inside knowledge and discussions on what producers casting directors are looking for and how to improve. Then it’s off to the airport to return home from this once in a lifetime Broadways experience.
