DESCRIPTION
Students will experience the operations of a multi-day film festival by attending not just films but panels and workshops coordinated by the Sundance Institute. This event introduces students to the independent film circuit where they will see films pivot from the traditional Hollywood experience.

Students will attend at least five independently produced films; two workshops or Q&A panels run by filmmakers; and develop an understanding of the culture of film festivals, how they operate, appreciating them as both a cultural spectacle and financial market for filmmakers.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 17, 2024
Become acclimated to Salt Lake City and Theaters. Tour the festival locations. Register for events and screenings if not already done so online.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 18, 2024
Premiere Date. Attend screenings and opening ceremonies.

Attend screenings, workshops, Q&As, etc. The festival program will have numerous options.
